"Working with Paul completely changed my life—and Leo’s.
My German Shepherd, Leo, became highly reactive toward other dogs and would lunge on walks to the point where I was scared to take him out. After struggling with it on my own for over a year, I sent him to Paul’s training program for a month—and the transformation was incredible. In just four weeks, Leo made more progress than I had been able to achieve in a year.
Paul kept me updated with videos and provided a training packet, and when Leo came home, he even met with me in public to help build my confidence handling him. Leo is now calm, confident, and well-behaved, and walks are something I actually enjoy again.
Paul continues to be a resource whenever I need guidance, and I truly can’t recommend him enough. He’s knowledgeable, supportive, and experienced with dogs of all temperaments."

"We had such a great experience with Paul training our dogs, Honey and Thea. He was amazing with both of them and they learned so much while working with him. You could really tell he cared about the dogs and knew exactly how to work with their different personalities.
When they came home, we noticed such a big difference in their behavior, listening, and overall confidence. He also kept us updated throughout the process, which we really appreciated.
We’re so thankful for everything he did for Honey and Thea and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a great dog trainer."

"If you're looking for a trainer who can truly transform your dog's life, look no further than Paul at Virginia Dog Trainer. Our 5-year-old Coonhound, Lucy, came to Paul with some serious behavioral challenges — she was a chronic runner and had developed a dangerous habit of going after our chickens. We honestly weren't sure it was fixable.
Paul proved us completely wrong. Thanks to his expertise and approach, Lucy is now living her absolute best life. She runs freely through the fields, comes when called every single time, and fully understands her boundaries. Watching her thrive with that kind of freedom — freedom we never thought she'd safely have — has been nothing short of incredible.
Paul didn't just train Lucy; he gave her a life. We couldn't recommend him more highly."

“My vet sent me to Paul to help me with my Lab, Rylee. She's 15 months old and super energetic, always jumping, lunging, nipping, and mouthing everyone she meets. Paul provided training, and within three weeks, a remarkable transformation was observed. He successfully addressed her undesirable social behaviors, introduced new commands, and refined existing ones, including her on- and off-leash walking skills.
He kept me updated the entire time with detailed texts, lots of videos, and pictures – all showing a happy, tail-wagging puppy who loved her training and her trainer.
Once the formal training ended, Paul provided me clear guidance on how to maintain Rylee's behavior modifications upon her return home, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I highly recommend Paul for individuals seeking effective dog training solutions.”

"When I first met Paul Davis, my dog, Rubble, was living in fear of almost everything. He had come from a previous training situation where he wasn't socialized, and it was absolutely heartbreaking to watch. He was terrified of ceiling fans, televisions, kitchens, mailboxes, parked cars, fire hydrants—virtually anything unfamiliar. He is the sweetest dog you could ever imagine, but he was living in a constant state of anxiety.
I was incredibly hesitant to send him away for training. After what he'd already been through, I was terrified of making things worse. But Paul came to my home, spent several hours with both Rubble and me, and it quickly became obvious that he truly understood what was happening. He took the time to understand not only my dog, but also our family and the emotional journey that had brought us to this point.
Over the next three weeks, Paul stayed in constant communication. I received daily updates, videos, photos, and the most delightful social media posts showing Rubble confidently experiencing all kinds of new environments and situations. It wasn't just reassuring—it was genuinely exciting to watch my dog blossom from afar.
A special thank you also goes to Paul's family. They welcomed Rubble into their home and treated him like one of their own. That home environment made such a difference, and I'm so grateful for the love and care they gave him while he was away.
Today, Rubble is home, and if there were ever such a thing as "fixing" a dog, Paul fixed him. Instead of shrinking away from new sights and sounds, he's now curious about them. He walks confidently through our neighborhood, even off leash, and is beautifully trained. Most importantly, he's no longer afraid of the world around him. He gets to enjoy being the happy, sweet dog he was always meant to be.
What truly sets Paul apart isn't just his extraordinary ability as a dog trainer—it's his compassion. He understood that this wasn't simply about obedience training. He recognized the important role Rubble plays in our family and how emotional this entire situation had become. His empathy, patience, and genuine care for both dogs and their people are unlike anything I've experienced.
There is no such thing as too much communication with Paul. He welcomed every question, every concern, and every update I wanted to discuss. I never once felt like I was bothering him. In fact, I came away from this experience feeling like a much better dog owner because of everything he taught me.
If you're considering Paul, read his biography and experience—you'll be impressed. Then meet him, and you'll discover one of the most genuine, humble, and down-to-earth people you'll ever encounter.
We are incredibly grateful that we found Paul Davis. We love our dog, and thanks to Paul, our dog now loves life. I cannot recommend him highly enough."
